How podswitch compares

podswitch cuts multicam podcasts from each speaker’s microphone and hands you the edit for Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, with your video kept on your computer. Here is how that compares with other popular tools, taken from their own websites, with every source linked.

Checked on 11 October 2026 from each company’s own website. Features and plans change, so follow the links for the current details. We leave prices out because plans differ too much to compare fairly. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we will correct it.

Tool by tool

podswitch or AutoPod?

Plug-ins for Adobe Premiere Pro, with a DaVinci Resolve version in beta, that cut multicam podcasts inside the editor.

Where AutoPod is strong

  • Works directly inside Premiere Pro, so there is nothing to import.
  • Supports up to 10 cameras and 10 microphones.
  • A Social Clip Creator that makes sized sequences from in and out points you choose.

What about your editor’s own tools?

Final Cut Pro

Syncs multicam angles by their audio and lets you switch angles by hand. Smart Conform reframes a project for a new shape, keeping faces in frame. We found no automatic switching from who is talking in Apple’s guides.

Premiere Pro

Auto Reframe makes a copy of a sequence in a new shape and keeps the action in frame. It does not switch cameras or pick clips, and we found no automatic switching from who is talking in Adobe’s documentation.

podswitch works alongside them: it makes the first cut and the clips from your microphones, and you finish in the editor you already use. Third-party plug-ins for automatic switching also exist for both editors.
